We can help you select the perfect wood for your butcher block countertop, and either stain it or leave it natural.
We can even craft butcher block countertops made entirely of end grain wood. End grain wood is known for its durability, as well as its ability to self heal, making it a great option for a countertop that will be used as a cutting board (or just a surface that you want to be extra resistant to scratches and nicks, as well as moisture). End-grain surfaces have a distinct checkerboard pattern that is very striking. Here at Smith Farms, we’ve built one of the largest end-grain tops in the world—at least the largest one that we can find online. It was a very labor-intensive process, but it came out amazing!
